Corporations Moving Toward the Use of 100% Renewable Energy
The use of renewable energy has passed a critical threshold with companies aiming toward making the transition to the use of 100% renewable energy. Environmentalists, ecosystem advocacy groups and the blossoming wind and solar industries are on board pushing for the exclusive use of renewable energy wherever possible.
From a technical standpoint it is seen as being a realistic goal through the use of the Cradle to Cradle principle. The Cradle to Cradle principal entails the use of 100% renewable energy while maximizing an organization’s environmental, social and economic impacts. Cradle to Cradle is a holistic, economic, industrial and social framework that seeks to create systems that are not just efficient but fundamentally waste free. It moves beyond traditional sustainability goals of only reducing negative impacts to instead creating a wholly positive or beneficial mark on the planet.

Emerging Green Economy Should be at the Forefront of Obama’s Job Creation
Recession seems to continue lurking around the corner and is greatly affecting the nation’s employment rate despite efforts from private employers who opened 67,000 jobs last month—according to the statistics from the Department of Labor. As of August 2010, the unemployment rate has risen to 9.6 percent, a first increase in the jobless rate in months.
It can be recalled that some of Obama’s 12-point plan to improve the US economy centered in the creation of jobs through fair trade, national infrastructure investment, technology, and best of all the spoken figure of 5 million so-called “green collar” jobs. But given the rising unemployment rate, there seems to be some disconnect between the number of jobless Americans and the promise for a greener job; and now Obama is somewhat being criticized by some sectors about his campaign promises that have been made to be broken.
Best New Green Business Ideas of 2010
Companies have tried different approach for business growth and beating competition. Most have patented anything that might be commercialized; others adopted sampling products and step by step introduction to products; some spend millions in advertising. The list is just so long, however internal methods seems to be lacking the “market value” that is why most businesses scout for innovations outside their wall.
Take for instance General Electric’s Ecomagination Challenge, a contest looking for companies, inventors, and students with the best clean-technology ideas and come together to building the next generation power grid to meet the needs of the future. GE [NYSE:GE] along with Emerald Technology Ventures, Foundation Capital, KPCB and Rockport Capital are investing $200 million with the best idea entered in the contest. Continue reading
