BLOGOSPHERE GOES “GREEN”: THEY’VE GOT SOMETHING TO SAY
The online world offers a lot of opportunities for Internet users to air out their opinions, comments, thoughts and suggestions. Take the blogosphere, for example. The blogosphere is composed of all blogs as well as their connections.
In the realm of the blogosphere, everybody has a lot to say. One of the topics that have been a hot discussion is on America’s push for a greener economy and environment. So, here’s what the bloggers are talking about in the blogosphere:
Green Jobs in a Viable Economy Matters Big Time for America
A new CEA report of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) has already been released last week. Based on the said report, ARRA has done well for America’s environment and its people. In other words, the act has given clean energy and jobs for American residents.
According to CEA’s estimates, “ARRA has saved and created a total of between 2.5 million and 3.6 million jobs as of the second quarter of 2010—an estimated 827,000 of which are a result of public investment in clean energy production, energy efficiency, grid modernization, and advanced vehicles manufacturing”.
Sustainable living and our car parts, we should have a close look at our car tires
When you think of sustainable living, first thing that you associate it with, is the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions from your car. Automatically you tend to focus on the fuel system of the car. Other than choosing an electric vehicle over gas to make your car eco friendly there are many other ways to reduce your carbon footprint which are not related to car’s fuel source.
One such obvious and overlooked example concerns making gas powered cars more sustainable by making road trips less harmful to the environment. Before taking a road trip, you should make sure your tires are fully inflated to increase fuel efficiently. According to fueleconomy.gov, properly inflating your tires to their proper pressure can improve mileage by about 3.3%. Having under-inflated can reduce mileage by 0.4 percent for every one PSI drop in pressure of all four tires. Continue reading
